I'm Samantha S., the breeder behind Always Faithful Weimaraners located in Waverly, NY. We purchased our first Weimaraner in 2015 from a BYB, this was an experience that led us to educate ourselves before buying another. Always knew we'd want more, and found Anna in 2018. She was the start to our hobby of showing dogs in Confirmation, Performance Sports and Breeding.

Why did you start breeding?
I initially began for my own interest and to continue quality bloodlines of a good friends Weimaraner with my Weimaraner. I wanted another puppy of my own, and the ability to learn and grown in something that I enjoyed. Dogs are my joy, they are with me at all times unless I am at work, and occasionally they even go with me to work. We show in Conformation, Agility, Rally and are learning the ropes at Hunting.What makes your program special?
We are family centered. Our puppies are raised in our home. We do not do a lot of breeding and breed only for the betterment of the breed, to maintain within the standard, quality temperaments, and healthy dogs that are capable of excelling in conformation and performance sports!What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Samantha
Samantha has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Samantha partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.
“Puppies temperament, conformation and bird ability is assessed during the 8th week they are with me. Once complete I will start placing puppies with their homes. ”
Price
“Price may vary depending on the quality of the parents and expectations of the litter. Deposit of $500 will guarantee your ability to obtain a puppy. Show/Performance puppies will be selected first, then puppies will be matched with their pet homes. Limited Deposits accepted prior to pregnancy being confirmed.”

Litter update on 14 Mar •…Puppies have been home for almost a whole week for most of you. How is everything going? How is potty training, and/or training in general going? Charli knows her name, comes when called, can sit, spin and is working on lying down. Potty training is going ok, if I move quick enough, or am not half asleep and forget to carry her outside!.

Litter update on 25 Feb •…Puppies sleep a lot more than you think. 18hrs a day from 8-20weeks And from 6months+ it’s around 14 hours a day.. overtired puppies can become whiney, destructive, hyperactive and can start biting. Your puppy doesn’t always need more training and playtime, make sure they have enough sleep as well. This is helpful and goes right along with crate training!

Litter update on 21 Feb •…Been a busy week! Lots of cleaning at this point. Started crate training. Have a couple whiners, but they settle down. Never let a puppy out of their crate when they aren’t calm and quiet. Leave them be. When they are quiet, they can come out.

Samantha has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Always Faithful Weimaraners reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Weimaraners.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Chondrodystrophy (CDDY and IVDD Risk) with or without Chondrodysplasia (CDPA), Spinal Dysraphism (SD), Hypomyelination, Weimaraner Type, Hyperuricosuria (HUU)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Samantha was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was super responsive and helpful in answering any questions we had, and we really admire her honesty and commitment to the Weimaraner breed. She also paired puppies with owners based on lifestyle wants and choices. We get stopped all the time with our new family member, Beau, with people commenting how beautiful and striking he is. Our puppy trainers have commented on his superb structure. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Samantha to those interested in putting in an application for a puppy with her, or to even work with her again ourselves in the future. Meanwhile, Beau has been settling in nicely and is a confident and intelligent puppy who learned his name and "sit" in 1 day. Because Samantha started crate training early, he came home set up for success and has had fewer accidents in the house than our friends' puppies at the same age. He's an absolute joy and loves people!
