I'm Susan B., the breeder behind Ambush Kennel located in New Windsor, MD. We value responsible breeding practices and want to do our part to ensure the English Setter and Chinese Crested will continue to thrive. We built our program with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and it is our goal to provide each dog that comes from our program with a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, and loving care.
Q. & A. with Susan
Why did you start breeding?
We started out in 1984 with Rottweilers and Cocker Spaniels, then we discovered English Setters in the early 90’s and fell in love. We are now on our sixth generation of champion English setters from our original stock.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Chinese Crested puppies include powderpuff and hairless coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our English Setter puppies include blue belton and tan (tri-color), orange belton, and blue belton. Chinese Crested puppies include pink, palomino, chocolate, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
