Meet the breeder

I'm Joy A., the breeder behind Amon Rih Arabian Horses & Afghan Hounds located in Union, MO. We love to responsibly raise and train Afghan Hounds so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We commit ourselves towards preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families so that they can raise their beloved companions with confidence! It would be our pleasure to introduce you to your next loving companion.

Q. & A. with Joy

  • Why did you start breeding?

My AH foundation bitch, Shikari’s Uguava Amon Re, was so extraordinarily good, I bred her back to her grandsire, Ch Mecca’s Falstaff, for my first AH litter. They were exquisite specimens: type, good temperaments, good movers. After our house fire and I lost so many, I concentrated on showing my Arabian horses. After 20 years, I co-owned a bitch, we bred her and I’ve been showing them successfully since.
  • What makes your program special?

My Hounds are known for having Afghan Hound type, having correct conformation, and being correct generation after generation. Let me help you find the perfect companion.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
