Meet the breeder

I'm Natalie T., the breeder behind Apex Anatolians located in Frenchtown, MT. Apex Anatolians is focused on Anatolians as working livestock and homestead guardian dogs with sound minds (temperament and aptitude) and bodies (fully health tested parents, mindful rearing). For small family ranchers and farmers, nothing comes close to the return on investment of a well-bred LGD.

Q. & A. with Natalie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My dogs perform an important function, and I had many people ask me for pups from 2011 on. Given the need for these dogs, I found a complementary female and began my breeding program in 2013. I have since built my program on the tenets of proper temperament, working aptitude, and health. My breeding prospects are DNA and X-ray checked by OFA and PennHip for soundness.
  • What makes your program special?

As one of the few working LGD kennels that performs true health testing (OFA/PennHip, not private Vet scoring), we stand apart. Our predator load in the Montana Rockies is expansive, and the genetics I match for are unique. Anyone dealing with apex predators moving in on their small acreage homestead or family farm can see the value in a pup selected for them out of proven, tested parents.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red fawn, fawn, brindle, biscuit and white, and gray fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
