I'm Bobbi K., the breeder behind At Redwood Runs located in Galt, CA. I am a proud member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America and have been breeding German Shepherds since 1978. I have also been recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit and Bred with H.E.A.R.T. qualified, with over 35 years of references.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I am a professional breeder, always willing to share my passion and mentor others. I was fascinated by the entire process of working with animals. ❤️  My motto remains the same, “Bred to Serve”, as I continue providing Service Dogs 🦮 to persons in need and also to families that will LOVE my babies! 💕
  • What makes your program special?

    I simply adore the German Shepherd breed, and I am excited to find that special dog most suited for your special needs! I am happy to answer your questions. I do have questions of my own and can help you with general dog questions too. I am dedicated to finding loving and responsible homes for each of my puppies. These puppies are exceptional and my dream is for them to find their forever homes!
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include plush, stock, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Bobbi

Bobbi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 deposit and between $1,500 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All health care will be current per veterinarian, including microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed . Health care sheet listing what and when your puppy needs to be seen again, and examination by a veterinarian and health examination certificate. Ready to release to new homes at 7 weeks. . Deposit is non-refundable if you simply change your mind. (I am open to extenuating circumstances). Also, if there is not the sex, color, or coat type born that you have placed your deposit on, then of course it is refunded immediately. In addition, should the puppy not pass the veterinary examination as healthy your down payment is refunded at that time.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition, Temperament Test

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
