Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca B., the breeder behind Aus Gerstbrei German Shepherds located in Worthington, IN. Our focus is on breeding the absolute soundest dogs in temperament and health for families. We produce highly health and temperament tested dogs that fit into a home setting or working home. In order to better reach our goals, we stay small and we work and title our dogs ourselves.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started in rescue, helping rehabilitate dogs that just had a bad start in life. I enjoyed the training aspect very much and wanted to start competing. I was having a very hard time finding dogs that had the temperament and the health I needed so I started my own breeding program. I like to breed beautiful structurally sound dogs that have solid temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

I love a beautiful dog that can work. Embarking on this journey we train and title many of our dogs to prove their worth on the field as well as at home. Titling of parents should be demanded by puppy buyers to ensure the parents have passed the minimum health and temperament testing this breed demands. We are heavily involved in our dogs lives and careers.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include long and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I have been so pleased with our puppy and experience! We were kept updated every step of the way, and got matched with the perfect pup for us ❤️ He’s basically already potty trained and kennel trained thanks to the dedication Aus Gerstbrei put in before we even got him.
