Meet the breeder

I'm Susanne S., the breeder behind Austerlitz German Shepherds located in Sand Springs, OK. We have over 30 years of experience as trainers, exhibitors, and breeders of the GSD. Our bloodlines and program span 6 generations of homebred dogs and our focus in the last decade is on producing healthy, sound, and dependable companions, protectors, and adventure dogs for modern homes.

Q. & A. with Susanne

  • Why did you start breeding?

As an active dog sport competitor I originally started my breeding program to cater to dog sport trainers , however, our program has grown from that to now specialize in breeding exceptional companion dogs. The goal of our program is to breed adaptable modern companion dogs - not a specialist in sport or show, of the 90s type and avoiding the extremes of mind and body common in today's bloodlines.
  • What makes your program special?

AGSD is a program that has been evolving and refining since 1993. We are committed to breeding physically healthy and long-lived dogs with correct structure and predictable, adaptive temperaments. What truly sets us apart is our carefully designed breeding program and extensive puppy raising protocols and early training to facilitate a smooth life with new families. • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, black and red, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
