I'm Janie S., the breeder behind Autumn Poodles/Doodles located in Beckley, WV. With 50+ years in AKC breeding and showing, I raise Poodle and Cavapoo puppies in my home with hands-on care. My small program focuses on health, structure, and temperament, with full testing and early socialization for well-rounded, loving companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Some of my fondest memories growing up included my family and pets. I raised my first litter of puppies at age 14. After marriage my husband and I, with our daughters, raised and showed GSD. Throughout the decades our puppies have enriched our lives and the lives of many families. We can’t imagine a time without our pet(s). Let us help you and your family find just the perfect match.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our multi-generational program spans 50+ years—because experience matters. From birth, puppies are raised in our home with daily hands-on care, early socialization, and enrichment. Each receives age-appropriate vaccines, a vet exam, and careful monitoring to ensure they grow into happy, healthy, well-adjusted companions.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies include toy, miniature, and moyen sizes. Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies include black, brown, parti, and phantom. Cavapoo puppies include merle, brown, chocolate, sable, red, blenheim, tri-color, black and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Janie

Janie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Janie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We do not hold puppies back to wait for full personality development before selections are made. Our adults are carefully chosen and intentionally paired to reproduce the wonderful character traits, sound temperaments, and family-oriented dispositions they consistently demonstrate. Because temperament is thoughtfully bred into each litter, families can feel confident in the overall quality and predictability of the pairing. Every puppy is raised in our home with early socialization and foundational development protocols in place. Our program is structured to support smooth, confident transitions into family life.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $5,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Pricing ranges from $2500 for companion puppies to $6000 for select breeding prospects. Feel free to reach out for more details. A $500 non-refundable deposit reserves your puppy. It is non-refundable as the puppy is removed from availability and other interested families are declined.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     I can’t say enough about my experience using Good Dog, and finding Janie with Autumn Poodles/Doodles! Having been scammed before, I was very cautious about going online to find sister for our 5yo Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Kacey. But Good Dog was, in my opinion, the safest way to go about it. Having a breeder that was within driving distance for me to be able to meet the puppy was very important for me. And I was smitten the moment I saw the post for Willa. Janie contacted me as soon as I my application was approved, and she was very open to any and all questions. She understood my desire to meet Willa before making a commitment, and we were able to find a meet up time and place that worked for the both of us. From the moment she knew I wanted to meet Willa, even knowing there was no guarantee I would purchase, she filled me in on all that I needed to know about her. She sent me the information on her health and vaccinations, what kind of food she ate, and her personality. She sent me pictures and videos to give me an idea as to how Willa was prior to getting to meet her. Janie was very instrumental in helping me make the informed decision about adding Willa, now Meg, to our family. We have now had our sweet pup for a month, and she has been a delight! Janie has been great through this whole process. Being available from the get go to ensure the transition was easy, and following up to ensure that our sweet pup is doing well and fitting into the family (especially whether she and Kacey are getting along). 🥰🥰

    Where to begin?! Janie & Curtis drove an hour to introduce me to Abby, now Parker. They were genuinely two of the nicest people I’ve ever met!     Thank you Jamie for your assistance in getting our Cavapoo puppy. Boone is doing so well! He is adjusting to us and his new home with great success. He is doing really great with his outside training! He is taking short walks on his lead twice a day…so good. And he is sleeping from 11-6 with his snuggle puppy and a sound machine.
