Avalanche Acres

Erin S.

Breeder of Jack Russell Terriers

Meet the breeder

I'm Erin S., the breeder behind Avalanche Acres located in Douglas, WY. We have a few carefully planned litters that are raised indoors and well socialized in order to place the right dog with you and your family. We strive to produce happy, sound, and intelligent dogs that excel in the field, conformation ring, and home.

Q. & A. with Erin

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first JRT was obtained by JRTCA members who encouraged me to join the club. She was smart and athletic and did well at trials and anything I asked of her. I wanted to reproduce her wonderful personality while improving her conformation.
  • What makes your program special?

The breed standard is always my goal, not winning ribbons in the ring. My dogs live in my home and must be pets first and foremost. I know not all of the puppies I produce will be hunted or shown, but they will all be pets, so my focus is the healthiest possible puppy for the longest life possible that matches the breed standard as close as possible.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
