I'm Lindsay M., the breeder behind BAFERD Kennels located in Shreveport, LA. Our dogs have been bred for selection of traits that preserve and protect our breed and its standard. We focus on soundness in structure and temperament. Our dogs are health tested, proven in the show ring or the woods as hunters. They live in our home and are loved as pets as well as working dogs.

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to protect this breed and ensure it was around for years to come, I loved my dogs and saw potential, I wanted to ensure quality genetics were carried on, but also improved upon. I had a lot of mentors across many different breeds before I entered into my first breeding and continue to seek mentorship to ensure our dogs are the healthiest and best quality they can be.What makes your program special?
We don't breed frequently or for mass production. Our breedings are purposeful, set up to ensure quality temperament, health and structure. We provide health guarantees, lifetime support and return policies. Even though one of our puppies goes to your home, we will love them forever and support them in your household.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Lindsay
Lindsay has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Lindsay partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
Price
“This price includes microchipping, registration and health guarantee. We do provide support for the life of the puppy either as a show prospect, sporting dog, or a pet. All puppies are the same price, puppies meeting show quality standards will be preferentially placed in those home. Pet home puppies will be sold on limited registration with a spay neuter contract.”

About Paisley
Paisley has grown up with 4 other siblings, her sire, and his half littermate in the home with her. She is strong willed, intelligent and playful. She loves food and cuddles and takes well to new people. She does split her time between our home and the home of her professional handlers where she is accompanied by her littermate. She comes from hunting line blood, her sire was a NITECH in the UKC and her damn came from a long line of successful hunters, however she has not been trained to track. She has been a natural wonderful mother to her puppies and is the future female alpha of our pack. She does have OFA Certifications Complete

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
