I'm Marcy B., the breeder behind Baker’s Goldens located in Salem, OR. I'm a small hobby program. I prioritize the well-being of my dogs. I go above and beyond to give my dogs a fulfilling life. I want to make sure they lead a good life and are as healthy as they can be. I prioritize finding the right home for each individual pup.

    I am passionate about the well-being of animals. I wanted to contribute to bettering the breed and the lives of others.

    I am dedicated to ensuring all of my pups and healthy and are placed with families that will go above and beyond for them.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    The entire experience from first phone contact through the great day of picking up our Golden puppy was great. Marcy provided us all the information and personal contact that we desired as well as regular photos thru the development days of our new family member. It was especially great that with this puppy we were able to see her littermates and parents. Our last (and current Golden #1 was from 3 and 1/2 years ago during COVID and we never had the great experience that we have now. We have had many Goldens from puppyhood over the past 45 years, Marcie’s guidance and recommendations have made this addition a wonderful experience.
