Meet the breeder

I'm Butch C., the breeder behind Banffy Haus German Shepherds located in Killen, AL. We are dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion & purpose with others through our breeding program. Our love for the GSDs has led us to study the breed and plan our breedings, from exclusively European lines. We want to place amazing puppies which will become legends in their homes.

Q. & A. with Butch

  • Why did you start breeding?

For Dr. Banfe & Mr. Collins there is no other breed. Dr. Banfe comes from an animal background. Always having animals, especially dogs in his home. His mother even helped raise a bear cub. Mr Collins will tell you of his admiration for the breed. The GSD is the 3rd most intelligent dog, and the most multi-task. And European lines, which is all we use in our breeding programs, are even more.
  • What makes your program special?

We carefully select our breeding stock from European lines to optimize line breeding from top German champions. Our breeding bitches are protection titled, with HD1 hips & DM clear. Our goal is to breed big boned, highly pigmented European line puppies w/super temperaments & health. We have spent years learning this breed exclusively and have created a blog and k-9 college on our website for you.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock, plush, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
