I'm Barbara C., the breeder behind Barbara's West Highland White Terriers located in Searcy, AR. The parents have been DNA tested for inherited markers for 245 diseases. They are clear for all of them. However, they each have 1 or 2 markers would would want to be aware of . We do our best to socialize and acclimate each litter so we’re able to offer all-around healthy and well-mannered puppies! We started breeding with the simple mission to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to find them the perfect future homes.
Q. & A. with Barbara
Why did you start breeding?
When our youngest children were 3 & 4 we bought our first 2 westies. That was in 1996. We have been head over heels with this fantastic breed. We have been raising them since. We have learned so much about these smart, loving, loyal, entertaining and intuitive companions. West White Terriers are the only breed we raise.
What makes your program special?
We are hands on with our furbabies. They sleep in a whelping box in a crate from birth. That way they are very comfortable in a crate if their new forever families decide to crate them. We begin crate training as soon as they are old enough. Each one is loved and carefully watched over with love.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Barbara is thoughtful and caring regarding her dogs and puppies, striving for the best fit family to continue the love and care in his/her forever home. I appreciate Barbara's assistance in helping me arrange Nanny transpiration and getting Odie to the airport on time to fly out to San Diego. She goes beyond the call of duty, and graciously answers my questions and concern via email. Barbara is a wonderful and classy individual. It has been a pleasure
and easy to work with Barbara and I would adopt another puppy from Barbara in the further. "5 star performance". Thanks again, Barbara.

It was a pleasure working with Barbara. She is the BEST!! We picked up our Spencer this past July and he was everything that Barbara told me he would be. Barbara was extremely professional in all of our business dealings. She has continued to be a great source of support and information as we work through our first year. It was love at first sight when we met him. He quickly became part of our family and even goes to the office with us daily. If and when we decide to add another buddy to our house - Barbara will be our first call.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
