Meet the breeder

I'm Paula W., the breeder behind Bare Nakeys Kennel and Cattery located in Wasilla, AK. Our Bare Nakeys are bred with a focus on health, conformation, versatility, intelligence and most importantly temperament. We do all recommended health and genetic testing and have the AKC CHIC numbers to prove it. They are not just breeding dogs to us they are a part of the family and our pets.

Q. & A. with Paula

  • Why did you start breeding?

Once both Stitch and Rella proved themselves with over a dozen combined AKC titles & surpassed all health & genetic testing decided that they would be great preservers of the breed & their first litter exceeded all expectations. We have decided to add another female to our home & once she has proven herself hopefully add her to our breeding program as well. We are very proud of our nakeys.
  • What makes your program special?

I think our program is special because it's obvious that our dogs are family first. We don't breed often & only do so to preserve a breed we love so much. Our dogs are a huge focus in our lives & are with us often. They can be found with us on a nice drive, camping, hiking, competing, family visits & most car rides. That love shines through into happy dogs and confident friendly puppies.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include powderpuff and hairless coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate, red, silver, sable, cream, black, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
