I'm Louise F., the breeder behind Barnwood located in Powell, OH. My dogs are not only champions in the ring but in the hearts of their forever families! I am purposeful in everything that I do regarding my dogs, which includes careful selection of breeding dogs and extensive health testing. My goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments that are exemplary representations of the breed.

Why did you start breeding?
I fell in love with Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Whippets and decided to start my own responsible breeding program in order to continue my incredible line and to share these wonderful dogs with others. I’m passionate about what I do and am dedicated to producing healthy, quality dogs. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I made a positive contribution to these dogs and the families who love them!What makes your program special?
I am a professional breeder of my high-quality dogs. I do not produce a litter unless each of my parent dogs is fully healthy and excellent representations of the standard. I am dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming my pups. I love what I do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of my puppies shine! I look forward to connecting with you.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
