All of our puppies are born and raised inside our home with the "help" of our 2 kids and are showered with attention and love.

Why did you start breeding?
I spent a lot of time with my grandmother who bred and showed Basset Hounds. Her mother also bred Basset Hounds for hunting. After my children were born my oldest son and I started to visit AKC conformation shows to watch the Basset Hounds in memory of my grandmother. I decided that I was ready to start a new endeavor walking in my grandmother's shoes!What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special due to the amount of time and effort I put into it. From the moment that the puppies are born they never leave my side! Their whelping box is located next to my bed until they are old enough to move into the puppy box to potty train. My adults all live amongst our family in our house and have a doggie door to an acre fenced in yard. Each adult is also health tested.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Working with Sarah was an easy and memorable process. From the first time we reached out to her about bringing home one of her bassets, she was incredibly warm and responsive. Regular updates on when the breeding will/did happen, sonograms, litter size, and expected birth date. From there she constantly posts photos and videos of the litter, all in anticipation of the upcoming litter pool where buyers get to pick their pup. Since she is in Montana and its hard to meet the pups, the pics and videos she posts are great! I feel like I got to know the pup I chose through this medium. By the time Sarah dropped the dog of too me, I feel as though I already knew him, which made for an almost instant bond! Sarah is highly recommended if you want a happy, healthy, certified Basset Hound from a friendly and trustworthy breeder like Sarah

+5I have spent most of my 37 years on this Earth dreaming of owning a Basset Hound, and I found everything I was looking for and more when fate connected me with Sarah of BeautyBea's Flathead Lake Bassets around one year ago. Prior to 2023 I’d only ever owned (and been owned by) German Shepherds, but somehow the stars aligned last Fall and I stumbled upon the most strikingly beautiful and comical canine face I’d ever laid eyes on – on a GoodDog profile no less! The stunner now known as Cletuspatra (Cletus for short) has been my constant source of comedy and bedtime snuggles since Sarah hand-delivered her to me at my local airport in October 2023. While I was first taken aback by this beautiful tricolor Basset, what really surprised and impressed me was Sarah’s commitment to hand-delivering her puppies, including personally flying them wherever they were destined throughout the USA. Despite living across the country, Sarah in MT and I in NY, I was able to personally meet and speak with this wonderfully kind and committed woman when I received my wrinkly new family member. While I have worked with other reputable breeders in the past, I have never encountered anyone like Sarah who so clearly and solidly invests in each and every individual dog she raises. I can easily wax on about the ways Sarah’s love, commitment, professionalism, and reliability shine through when it comes not only to her dogs but her vetting process for future owners, but as the owner of a now >1 year old BeautyBea’s Flathead Lake Basset, I am most thankful for Sarah’s continued correspondence and open channel of communication when it comes to any questions that may arise from this first time Basset owner.

If you are looking for a breeder that truly cares about her pack, her puppies and her furever homes, look no further than Sarah and BeautyBea's Flathead Lake Bassets. From the time we started inquiring about bringing another pup into our home 4 years ago up and through present day, the communication has been swift, open and caring. She shares videos throughout the process and is available and in contact every step of the way. Sarah wants the best puppies for their hoomans and the best hoomans for her puppies and works to assure there is a perfect fit for both. She spends sleepless nights staying next to her puppies and their mamas to make sure they are well taken care of. She is diligent about making sure they hit all of their milestones and has a program in place to socialize them in a real world environment. The puppies are taken to her family vet and are health checked and given their appropriate vaccinations and dewormers. Her puppies are introduced to kids of varying ages, her own pack and the sounds of a family home. She has creative play spaces both indoors and outdoors and even begins potty training them before they go to their furever homes! She goes above and beyond to make receiving your puppy as convenient as possible, offering to fly them to you or driving them to meet you half way. She provides a "care bag" filled with your puppies paperwork and vaccinations, food, snacks, toys and a blankie with mama's scent on it to help your pupper in case transitioning to their new family takes a few days for them to settle in. We have the happiest, loviest, healthiest, well-tempered, beautiful dogs and feel so fortunate to have found Sarah and to have her and BOTH of our puppers be in our furever family!
