Meet the breeder

I'm Denise H., the breeder behind Beech Ridge Goldens located in Scarborough, ME. We recently retired our American Golden so we currently only will be breeding our English Cream. Our next American Golden won't be ready for breeding for at least a year and a half. We breed our Golden's for health and quality of the breed. We have done OFA and Genetic testing. Our dogs are screened by our Vet and a Specialist, if necessary prior to breeding to be sure they are in good health to be bred.

Q. & A. with Denise

  • Why did you start breeding?

It's something we wanted to do and once we moved back to Maine it gave me the opportunity to do my research after we got another Golden puppy.
  • What makes your program special?

We care about not only our dogs that are part of our family but all the puppies as well. We research potential families and talk to their Vets. I've had waiting lists before we've even bred our females.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
