I'm Kristin C., the breeder behind Berner Bud Farm located in White Lake, MI. When we bring a life into the world, we take that responsibility seriously and do everything we can to make sure it gets the best start possible. Additionally, any pup or dog from our program is a part of our pack for life, and we will always have a home for them here if they need it.
Q. & A. with Kristin
Why did you start breeding?
We knew instantly we never wanted to be without our Berner. We understood the breed, their sometimes short life span, and knew we had to keep a piece of her with us always. We did all the health testing, RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH, partnered with two experienced reputable breeders & an excellent vet team to be sure we are truly preserving the best of the breed for our family and yours.
What makes your program special?
We aren't a business. We aren't Breeders in the typical sense. We are family that LOVES their Bernese mountain dog like she is our human baby. The way our children's eyes light up from the love of their best bud melts our hearts in a way that is irreplaceable. We have fully tested mom & dad to be sure the deck is stacked in our favor to have as much time with our angels in dog suits as possible!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black tan and white and black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Kristin dropped off Bernie along with an unexpected but greatly appreciated basket of goodies, THANK YOU. Bernie is acclimating quite well with our St. Bernard, Tilly. Although Tilly outweighs Bernie by 100lbs, Bernie can keep up with Tilly for short bursts of energy. Bernie is a loved addition to our family. Best news is from day one Bernie slept through the night, yeah

Berner Bud Farm is the best breeder. Kristen is so knowledgeable and caring. She kept us up to date on the development of the puppies and poured her heart into helping socialize the litter with lots of experiences. Our River came home completely potty trained on the grass mat at 9 weeks old! We are so lucky we found Kristin.

I’m so grateful for finding Kristin and her husband to get our next Berner from. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and we have the best dog! She clearly communicated, picked the perfect puppy personality for us, and a healthy, well adjusted pup. I appreciate how she cared for the litter and started the training process. It made it so easy to continue to train our pup. I am so impressed how such a big litter yet all the dogs markings are so uniform. This is our 4th Berner and our best Berner. I highly recommend Berner Bud Farm for your next Bernese Mt Dog.

Kristin was outstanding through the entire process from initial contact to delivery of Ketel ! Kristin was extremely responsive, forthcoming with information, kept us informed of the puppies progress after birth and went the extra mile to help with us picking up Ketel.
Highly recommend Kristin!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
