I'm Jessica H., the breeder behind Blessed Bassets located in Bellaire, OH. Welcome to Blessed Bassets, where our love for the breed runs deep and every puppy is truly a blessing. We are a small, family-based breeder located in the beautiful hills of Ohio. Our Basset Hounds are raised right in our home, surrounded by family life, love, and plenty of care—never in kennels.

Getting a puppy from Jessica

Jessica has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jessica partners with them to find the best puppy match.

"At Blessed Bassets, puppies are matched to families based on temperament, personality, and lifestyle fit. Picks are made in order of deposits received, beginning around 4–6 weeks of age. While families may share preferences, we guide final placements to ensure each puppy goes to the home that suits them best — setting both puppy and family up for lifelong success."

Puppy prices include between $1,800 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

". Deposits • A $500 deposit is required to reserve a puppy. • Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future litter if needed. 2. Health Guarantee • All puppies come with a one-year health guarantee against hereditary conditions identifiable through genetic testing. • Puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian and come with a health certificate and vet report. • Each puppy is covered with 30 days of free Trupanion insurance. • The buyer must activate the Trupanion policy within 24 hours of receiving their puppy for the health guarantee to remain valid. 3. Veterinary Care • Puppies will be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming before leaving. • Blessed Bassets is not responsible for any veterinary expenses once the puppy has gone to its new home. 4. Spay/Neuter Requirement • Puppies sold as pets must be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age. • Failure to provide proof of spay/neuter may result in the buyer being charged the breeding rights price ($4,000). 5. Pickup & Transportation • Puppies must be picked up in person unless prior arrangements are made. • Ground or flight nanny transport may be available at the buyer’s expense. 6. Right of Refusal • Blessed Bassets reserves the right to refuse sale if we feel a home is not the right fit for one of our puppies."

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    Jessica at Blessed Bassets was great to work with. From the initial contact through pickup and beyond, Jessica has been available for questions throughout. Great updates on our little guy and all of the pups were posted regularly including pictures and videos. Provided a great care package to go home with as well to ensure the pups had everything needed to transition to their new home. Would definitely recommend and would use Blessed Bassets again for any potential future basset puppies in our lives.
