“We originally considered using a wait list and matching puppies to families, but ultimately chose a different approach for several important reasons. We cannot control nature, and because of that, we are not comfortable accepting reservations for puppies that have not yet been born. For the same reason, we do not accept reservation fees until puppies are at least two weeks old, as a lot can happen during those early days. We also never want families to feel pressured to choose based on a list rather than forming their own connection. There is no “bad pick,” and we don’t want anyone to feel they were left with the last option simply because they reserved later. This approach ensures no puppy is overlooked or rejected, and no family feels obligated to take a puppy that doesn’t truly feel right for them. Additionally, we cannot control gender, color, eye color, or adult size. We don’t believe it’s fair to accept someone’s money and ask them to wait indefinitely for specific traits that may never occur. By allowing families to choose their puppy directly, every puppy is someone’s first choice, and every family has the opportunity to select the puppy that genuinely speaks to them. Why This Matters: This matters because it puts the focus on what families truly want. Every decision is made with confidence, fairness, and clarity, so no family feels pressured or second-guessed—and every puppy finds the home where they are truly wanted.”
