Meet the breeder

I'm Hannah N., the breeder behind Bloomful Berners located in Fort Meade, MD. Passionate about the ethical preservation of the Bernese Mtn Dog, we use the AKC breed standard as our guide, the OFA's complete list of health testing as our compass, and some of the finest quality lines for health, type, temperament, and longevity as the heart behind our up and coming program. We just as carefully select the best families for our precious Bloomful puppies.

Q. & A. with Hannah

  • Why did you start breeding?

After acquiring our first AKC Berner 7yrs so, we quickly learned the difference between a "purebred" and a "well-bred purebred"... Yes, there's a difference! And I just as quickly set out to better educate myself and in turn others so that our mistakes in acquiring a dog of quality would not be repeated. Our first pup we've lovingly titled our "Learner Berner" and despite her quirks, she remains a much loved member of our family. Four years later we were finally able to acquire the dog of my dreams! Together we have learned the ins and outs of AKC dog shows and sports, the importance of careful pedigree research and health testing, and how to interpret and breed to the official AKC standard. Now we begin the journey of bringing beautiful berner puppies into the world to bloom wherever they are planted!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Hannah

Hannah has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Hannah partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

"In order to ensure our Bloomful puppies end up with their forever families, we carefully record their traits and temperament for the first 8 weeks of life and then make matches based on the criteria and circumstances given by our hopeful puppy parents. This is a team effort and matches are usually made between 7-8 wks with pick up between 8 -9wks."

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 deposit and between $3,500 - $3,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.
