We are a small family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise.

Why did you start breeding?
Our first breeding experience was with Welsh Springer Spaniels. We did that for a number of years before taking a hiatus from breeding. We have owned basset hounds routinely throughout the 90's and into the 2000's. After much experience with the basset hound breed, we wanted to see how we could improve the breed with careful health screening.What makes your program special?

Our puppies include tan and white, black white and brown, black and white, and lemon and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Joe and Valerie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Joe and Valerie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“The price includes the guarantee, CKC or AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, and puppy socialization. The deposit will hold your puppy for 2 weeks. After that time, it is expected that full payment be made on the purchase.”

Litter update on 01 Feb •…Before bringing them all to the vet, all the pups had their first actual bath (as opposed to cleaning with just a wet wash cloth). Here is Clementine getting her bath!

Litter update on 01 Feb •Our puppies had their vet health check last Friday, January 30. It was an adventure for them! All puppies in excellent health and good to go!

About Zylee
Zylee is a female Basset Hound about 2 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Joe and Valerie decided to make her part of their program. Joe and Valerie has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Vet Wellness Exam

DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We picked up Remi ( Willow) yesterday and had such a wonderful experience. Made the 20 hour round trip drive worth it. Joe and Valerie were so welcoming, honest, knowledgeable, and kind. Remi was well loved and cared for, and is fitting in well with us now. If in the future I am wanting another basset hound I will reach out again to Joe and Valerie.

+4Joe and Valerie were amazing every step of the way - responsive and warm in the beginning, easy to coordinate meeting with to get our 2 perfect puppies, and gave us so much helpful information (incredibly organized - paperwork, best practices, tips for cleaning their ears). They also gave us adorable gift bags for each with food, new toys, a blanket that smells like their litter - I could go on and on about what a great experience it was! I felt very supported and prepared to take on the chaos of 2 puppies :) Spruce and Elvis are already the center of our world 5 days in - handsome, smart, and clearly spent the first 10 weeks of their life in an awesome environment. I feel so grateful that I was able to find Valerie and Joe. If you're thinking of getting a Bassett (great idea if I do say so myself) I cannot recommend them enough!
