Meet the breeder

I'm Ashka G., the breeder behind Blue Fairy Otterhounds located in San Diego, CA. Our Otterhounds are smart and versatile. We participate in conformation, obedience, rally, barn hunt, nose work and fun dog activities. Our adults are CHIC certified. We breed for health and temperament. Puppies are raised at home with emphasis on nutrition, physical and social development.

Q. & A. with Ashka

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the very first Otterhound at a dog show in 2005. Starr, a 3-year old female joined us in 2006 and we welcomed our first litter in 2007. It has been our goal to preserve and protect this wonderful breed. Our dogs have proven to be incredible, loving companions, and we wanted to share the Otterhound love and ownership with the world.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are an integral part of our family and daily lives, which is perfect for raising puppies. Our breeding starts with selecting sound and healthy Sires and Dams, pedigree research and health evaluation. Dam is given excellent care & nutrition throughout pregnancy. From birth, puppies grow in a secure, loving environment where they know that they matter to their canine and human family.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
