Our goals are temperment, health, and conformation, with our puppies being dual type Gordon Setters.   • Why did you start breeding?

    Gordons aren't the most popular breed around, and after experiencing the joy they brought into our life, we decided to do our best to be able to pass this amazing breed on to other people as well. Taking our time, we did all of the club recommended health testing first. Our Gordon Setters passed their clearances with flying colors, and as they say, the rest is history.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding program is special because we're family, and we care. We're not super big or fancy, but we focus on raising the best quality Gordon Setters we can possibly raise. Before we place a Gordon with you, we make sure that they will be a great fit for your lifestyle. When one of our Gordon Setters joins your life, we become friends, and we're here to support you as much as possible.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Ivan Lee

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,900 - $2,900 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4 (rcd4), DNA Repository

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I am beyond satisfied with my Blue Ribbon Gordon Setter from Ivan Lee. Due to an already scheduled vacation, I was unable to go to the kennel to select my puppy. I told Ivan what qualities I was looking for and asked him to choose a puppy based on his observations. The puppy I received has enriched my life so much in the two weeks I've had him. He learns so quickly and is the first puppy I've ever raised who has never attempted to use me or anyone else to teethe. I think the obstacle courses Ivan built for his puppies and the socialization he provided with his children and the adult dogs he owns creates an environment that fosters quick learning, challenges that are at just the right level, and puppies that are well-mannered in their new homes.     We recently welcomed our 8th Gordon Setter puppy from Ivan Lee at Blue Ribbon Setters, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.     We were very excited to find Gordon Setter pups! They are very difficult to come by. What is even more thrilling, is to find a breeder who is doing a great job with his dogs & puppies! We got Grady this past week. He was delivered to us by Furry Trails transport. Ivan Lee arranged all of that for us. We can’t say enough about how great they were, & the fact that is the company he chooses to ship his pups with. We could tell our pup was socialized and healthy.     Working with Ivan to bring home our first Gordon was nothing short of excellent at every turn. Ivan clearly takes painstaking care in setting his dogs up for success, and it showed through every step of the process. From allowing us to visit his facility before pickup, to holding the dog for us an additional week when we got tied up at a family wedding, he was so easy to work with and so communicative. Our Boone has only been home a week and has been learning commands and skills so fast. He is well socialized, comfortable on a leash, and ahead of the curve with crate and potty training. We can’t thank Ivan enough for taking such great care of us and of Boone, and can’t recommend him enough!

    Ivan was amazing and such a pleasure to work with! Great communication, great facilities, beautiful healthy happy setter mom and dad, and just all around great experience. When we lost our 14 year old black and tan coonhound/chow mix, we were looking around for a breed that reminded us of our sweet old man. We came across the Gordon Setter and fell in love!     Adding our sweet, smart and beautiful girl ‘Lulu’ to our family from Ivan Lee’s Blue Ribbon Setters has been great! Lulu slept most of the 9 hour drive home to Vermont and didn’t get car sick. Our first night home went well, she is curious but responsive to corrections. Definitely recommend! She is 9 1/2 weeks old and we look forward to a fun life together! Steve B
