I'm Jennifer P., the breeder behind Blue Ridge Basset Hounds located in Casper, WY. We are committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. Our mission is to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to select their future homes with careful attention.
Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
When I turned 19 for a veterinarian. I worked there until I became pregnant with my first child. It was then when I witnessed a dog get put to sleep because her tumors were so severe they ruptured. I cried so hard. It was at that moment I knew I wanted to be more involved with the beginning of life and less involved in the end of life in animal care.
What makes your program special?
Blue Ridge Basset Hounds was founded in 2015. And although we are a fairly younger breeding kennel, we are quite experienced in all things basset hounds. We provide early learning and development through enriched playtime and capture those key opportunities to help them develop emotionally, socially, and physically.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include mahogany and white, black and white, blue and white, lemon and white, black tan and white, black and brown, and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
