Meet the breeder

I'm Kay S., the breeder behind Blue Shield Malinois located in St. Cloud, FL. We are not only breeders but we are trainers and animal behaviorists. Your puppy starts off on the right paw from the very start! Our whole bloodline is on our training property which you can meet! We make sure you get the right breeding pair and the right puppy for your family. We have sport dogs, service dogs, family pets, and police and military options. Our puppies start training as soon as their eyes and ears open!

Q. & A. with Kay

  • Why did you start breeding?

Competing with my own dogs and studying genetics allowed me to successfully grow my breeding program. My dog MARSOC was a unique unicorn in the Belgian Malinois word that many people wanted for their own family. The bloodline is based off of MARSOC and his son and grandchildren which produce amazing family dogs, service dogs, and protection dogs that can be part of everyday activities with the family.
  • What makes your program special?

We are not only breeders, we are trainers, and animal behaviorist. Our puppies are exposed to environmentals and we help the mother's raise them with help by bottle feeding. From the very beginning our puppies are socialized and exposed to noises, smells, and new environments. I am able to help people find the right breeding pair and puppy with the use of my behavioral charts for every puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black sable, red, cream sable, black, mahogany, gray sable, and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kay

Kay has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Kay partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“I create behavioral charts for every puppy which includes interactions nursing, possession, how they respond to new environments, sounds and stresses. I perform multiple behavioral tests on each puppy and document how they react. This allows me to better articulate which puppies would be best for families with specific needs. For example, if a family with a newborn wants a puppy that is a specific color, but that puppy is the most mouthy and dominant out of the liter, I can articulate why that puppy is not the best fit for that family. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“Our puppies come from health tested parents with clear embarks and clear hips and elbows through OFA. Our puppies have health certificates, come with training material and strong enviornmentals. Differences in puppy prices is dependent on training packages that are offered. We offer training packages which include protection and or service training. Prices will be discussed at pickup for extended stay and trains. Once your application is approved the deposit will hold a puppy of the sex you want. As the puppies develop I will help you decide on a puppy that fits your needs and then reserve that puppy for you. Typically I advise to pick your puppy in the seventh week to allow for puppy personalities to show.”
