Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca B., the breeder behind Bouchard’s Best Shepherds located in Jonesborough, TN. Our dogs are all receive complete vet checks, and 1st shots. We breed for health and temperaments. We raise with family, for families. We also, on occasion, retire our older dogs with families and seniors. We are quality vs quantity.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding with Dianne Masters in Ma. She taught me so much about breeding dogs. She and I were breeding long coat German Shepherds. This is when I fell in love with breeding. My goal has always been to enhance the breed. I produced some of the most beautiful Germans, which can be found all over the US. What I loved, others loved. and then, I fell in love with the Mini Americans.
  • What makes your program special?

It’s not about the money for us. It is about the love and devotion we receive from these dogs. We want to share it with the world. They are smart, beautiful, healthy, sound minded creatures. All the money we get for our pups goes to their upkeep. Toys, fencing, food, grooming, vets, shelters for outdoor play, treats -and the list goes on. We genuinely love what we do. They have a very happy home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red & white, red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Rebecca

Rebecca has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Rebecca partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“ We take great care in watching the puppies as they grow. they live in our home and are raised around daily life. we have a playpen in kitchen and an outdoor fenced play area for the puppies. Super easy to housebreak because they are kept clean from day one. Which helps them learn they don't want to potty and live in yuck.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $950 - $2,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“Includes 2 year guarantee, AKC Registration Papers. Limited Registration meaning “you cannot register any offspring”. This is to prevent unwanted puppies and back yard breeders from using our dogs to breed without a true heart to enhance the breed. From a dog you adopt from us. Complete vet Checks & 1st shots. All of our AKC Mini American pups are the same price regardless of size or color. Same with our Olde World Long Coat German Shepherds. Only exceptions are if we are re-tiring/homing one of our older dogs.”

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Bouchard’s Best Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Miniature American Shepherds.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
