I'm Sunny D., the breeder behind Briarlea Japanese Chin located in Tularosa, NM. We live with our canine family on a small farm where we focus on the health and happy temperament of our toy dogs. Their traditional purpose as family companions is at the forefront of our breeding program. Sometimes, we have well-socialized puppies available for permanent family homes. They are handled and loved from the time of birth. We are confident that our puppies will enrich your life just as much as our dogs have touched ours!
Q. & A. with Sunny
Why did you start breeding?
I have been breeding dogs for over 50 years. I started with Bouviers des Flandres and now that I am older, I have a very select Japanese Chin program in its infancy. I hope to help families find their puppies from responsible and ethical sources to build a better and safer world for our dogs!
What makes your program special?
I focus on both health and temperament with each carefully planned litter. While it's great fun to win at dog shows (which we do as well), ultimately, it's the personality of the dog that endears him to you.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
