I'm Connie & Katie K., the breeder behind Brookwood Bernese Mountain Dogs located in Danville, PA. Our goal is to produce European Bernese Mt Dogs with sound temperament, health, & structure to be excellent family companions. Our parent dogs are fully health tested and very functional on our family's 50-acre farm.

Why did you start breeding?
We thought the Berneses were beautiful. We tried to do our research well and found a show breeder on the AKC marketplace who was willing to be our mentor. We appreciate all she has taught us.What makes your program special?
Our dogs are so loved, they are very special to us. They are also very attached to us and are expressive of their emotions, as well as being sensitive to our emotions too. Our pups are highly socialized and training begins early, actually before birth. Our socialization includes lots of music, other sounds such as a vacuum sweeper and engine, car rides, introduction to a crate and leash, and potty training awareness. We are eager to offer you support the entire life of your Bernese and want to be well informed of its health and behavior and accomplishments as he or she matures.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Litter update on 06 Dec. •…Three weeks old the puppies eyes are open and they are beginning to be more alert and awake! Today, their big achievement was pulling themselves up at the side of the whelping box when they thought it was time to eat, and mom was having her supper.

Program update on 03 Dec. •We got 4 inches of snow today! Here is a picture of Tori out playing in the snow! Tori and Bo are both sired by Moose, the father of Kim’s pups!

Program update on 03 Dec. •…We have very exciting news to post today! Three of our young Bernese mountain dogs got their preliminary Hip and Elbow certification results back from the OFA today. All three of them have passing hips and elbows! But best of all, our young male Beau has excellent hips! Beau is a great dog, he is very friendly and sweet, although he is a monster in size. Litter update on 23 Nov. •…Kim pups grow noticeably every time you check on them. They are very sweet babies. Kim is also doing great. The pups just began to open their eyes last night. That was a exciting discovery.

Litter update on 14 Nov. •…Moose and Kim’s puppies are two days old now! The puppies are growing and thriving and have full bellies. Mom Kim is doing very well. She sleeps a lot of time while the puppies nurse and also enjoys being in the kitchen with us and having a break from them. She’s also enjoying the nice weather here and likes to go outside for fresh air.

Litter update on 24 Oct. •…Puppies are on the way! Here’s two photos of Kim’s ultrasound! We are guessing that we have about eight puppies on the way. The pups are good size and look very healthy. Kim is her usual happy go lucky self. Her belly is growing bigger and she is glowing and happy. Will post another update after our x-ray for a puppy count on November 6.

Litter update on 07 Aug. •…Vonda and Victoria at 11 weeks old. These lovely girls have had so much fun together the last couple weeks. Tomorrow is Vonda‘s big day when she goes to her new home. Victoria is going to stay at our house and grow up with mom Chloe. We will continue to post pictures of Victoria as she grows.

About Chanel
Chanel is one of the most beautiful Bernese Mountain dogs you've ever laid eyes on. She's a littermate to our Clara. Chanel was imported from Hungary in April 2023. She had a direct flight from Warsaw to JFK. Chanel won quite a few ribbons in Hungary, including Best Baby and Berner of the Year in 2022. Chanel's father is the big, handsome CH Alibaba Duch Wrzosowiski. We look forward to a litter with Chanel in early 2024. Chanel stands 65 cm and weighs 115 pounds.

Weatherby was born on New Years Eve in Hungary. He comes from a big, beautiful litter of wonderful BMD parents. Weatherby's father is a 6x International European Champion. His mother is also a European Champion. Weatherby arrived on American soil in the JFK airport on the 12th of April, 2019. Weatherby was so glad to see us! He instantly became part of the family! We are grateful to Laszlo Paraszt for allowing us a share in his Bernese Family. We appreciate the BMD family health information he also has shared with us. Weatherby has passed all of his OFA certifications to date. We are pleased to share his results with you below. Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

We couldn't be happier with our new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy from Chloe and Moose's litter! We brought her home last Saturday, and she's already settled in beautifully after just a couple of days. We are thrilled to have found Connie and Katie as breeders. Each sire and dam are beautiful and in excellent health and disposition and conformation. We bought a puppy from Chloe and Moose's litter. What a gorgeous pup he is and absolutely charming and smart as a whip. The pups are raised with lots of love and hands on, with other dogs and kittens, and a farm life. They are so well socialized and confident. Puppies certainly come from a lineage of show quality and the price is on target. We received updates and videos and pictures throughout the eight weeks. We didn't think he could be better those updates, yet when we met him he far exceeded any of our expectations. Any questions or concerns were quickly answered by Katie. What a wonderful experience all around. (We even had a twelve hour delay in the airport and he was the hit of the terminal, we had never seen so many people coo over a puppy like this, and he took it like a trooper. He even used the potty properly!) The breeders are just so terrific, kind and knowledgable. We received instructions, information, tips, etc. Connie & Katie are the BEST OF THE BEST! We would not go anywhere else after this.
