I'm Darcy S., the breeder behind Brystal Whippets located in Pnw, WA. I breed for better dogs, not more dogs. Health testing, competition & careful selection support my breeding program. My focus is show & field-to look & run like a Whippet. I have 3 gens of nat'l running champions who also earned bench titles. They are healthy, happy, loving companions.

Why did you start breeding?
I got my first Whippet in 2001 & fell in love with their sweet nature at home & their fierce determination on the field. I love to watch them run. My Whippets are bred for beauty, brains & speed; I am proud they earned their place in Whippet history. I am constantly working to improve my breeding program. Research, health testing, lifetime responsibility, care & thought go into each pairing.What makes your program special?
I've bred 3 generations of national lure coursing (running) champions. Cobalt won the 2011 Canada nat'l, beating 47 whippets. Flame (F, 9) won 3 nat'l events 2016-18, including the ASFA Invitational, beating 76 whippets. Indy (M, 7) won the Open class at the AWC Nat'l in 2019, beating 82 whippets. He & his sis had the high scores of the 120 dogs competing. Blaze (M, 2) finished both ASFA & AKC coursing titles in 6 months! These dogs also won show titles.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Darcy
Darcy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include between $2,400 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“My pup price includes health guarantee, initial AKC registration, first vaccine, deworming, puppy socialization & lifetime support. Adult price includes all health records & AKC registration. As I seek to match dog to owner, I don't collect deposits. If I don't have breeding plans or you are far away, I may refer you to a reputable breeder closer to you. This is better for you/dog/breeder.”
Contract & health guarantee
Darcy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
