I'm Suzy L., the breeder behind Bushido Boerboels located in Lubbock, TX. Our high-quality puppies are the result of extensive research and thorough care for our outstanding dogs and puppies. We breed with a focus on health and temperament. We spend time socializing and training our pups so they will have a great foundation of good behavior and neurological development.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    After spending years with dogs adopted from a shelter I decided I wanted predictable and specific attributes in a dog. I did extensive research on the attributes sought after; a large and loyal protector. I kept coming back to the boerboel. I fell in love with the breed immediately after a few weeks with my first boerboel pup and told my husband I would never want a different breed again.

  • What makes your program special?

    We love these dogs and they are raised as part of our family. We take our puppies outside of the home before they go to their new families to ensure maximum, controlled exposure to people, places, etc. They are also exposed to cats, poultry, and sometimes additional livestock animals before 8 weeks of age. Our puppies come with a puppy kit, purchase contract, and health guarantee.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include reddish brown, brown, cream, red, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Suzy

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $2,500 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies come with tails docked, vet records, age appropriate shots, dewormed at 2-4-6-8 weeks, vet records, purchase contract and health guarantee, Bushido Puppy Welcome Kit, and a lifetime of breeder support! Deposits are only refundable if the sex of puppy applied for is not available from the litter. We do not guarantee color although we do our best to accommodate color preference.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
