Camcrest Westies

Sandy C.

Breeder of West Highland White Terriers

Meet the breeder

I'm Sandy C., the breeder behind Camcrest Westies located in Stanwood, WA. Welcome to the wonderful world of Terriers! I have been breeding since 1973 and am a proud member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America. I am a breeder of quality, raising healthy and happy West Highland White Terriers, all with excellent temperaments and attitudes.

Q. & A. with Sandy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first dog, Cindy, when I was about 7 years old. I got my second dog, a Collie named Holly, when I was 10, which was my introduction to dog shows. My introduction to the West Highland White Terrier didn't come until much later, when a friend of mine was looking for a home for a West Highland White Terrier. I said yes - my daughter has been wanting a small dog - and by the time the dog, Heather, was 8 she had her championship and a litter of puppies. I began breeding in 1973 and have continued doing so ever since.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed healthy puppies with excellent temperaments & attitudes. From the pups' birth, I begin to handle, train and condition them into becoming healthy dogs and the best companions. I am an expert in handling, training, and conditioning, and provide consultation services for dog shows.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
