I'm Pamela S., the breeder behind Campfire WSL located in Michigan. Campfire's goal is to produce versatile hunting dogs that can double as active outdoor companions by preserving the natural hunting ability and temperament of this utilitarian breed. My West Siberian Laika are hunted regularly on small game such as squirrel and raccoon and occasionally on large game like bear. They participate in hiking, packing, bikejoring, and weight pull when hunting seasons are closed. This is an active drivey breed, they are not a good fit for casual pet owners or service dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
