I'm Dakota M., the breeder behind Carbon Bold K9 Services located in North Fort Myers, FL. Our program focuses on producing an "old style" type of German Shepherd that possesses strong character with a very clear mind. All of our dogs live in our home, they are around our son, our livestock, they travel with us. But we also work them very hard in PP and IGP. They are fire on the field.
Q. & A. with Dakota
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding after seeing how much help the working-line GSD needed. There are great breeders out there, don't get me wrong... but the temperament I was seeing in every day German Shepherds is changing... and not in a good way. Every great breeder breeds as true to the original standard as possible. I appreciate all of them out there striving to keep the breed true to its roots.
What makes your program special?
My program is special in the way that I have an extensive training background and puppies are my niche. I love to cater to my clients in the way of setting their puppy up with foundations to make the transition to their new home successful. I also offer for them to stay with me longer to get started in obedience, sport, protection, SAR, etc. Anything my client can dream up. I am here to help.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
