Meet the breeder

I'm Lara S., the breeder behind Carolina Cavapoos located in Easley, SC. Our dogs are family, and we focus on making sure they have wonderful temperaments, especially since we have children around. We concentrate on keeping them healthy, only feeding them quality food, and making sure they exercise appropriately. Our dogs could not be loved more.

Q. & A. with Lara

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got a Cavalier in 2022, and not only did our family instantly fall in love, but all of our friends did as well. Over the years that we have had her, we have heard multiple people tell us they want a dog just like ours. After talking to friends who breed wonderful, healthy dogs, I decided to breed our Cavalier because the world deserves more dogs with her temperament, personality, and love.
  • What makes your program special?

I love dogs and want to help families find the perfect dog for their lifestyle and personality. We do DNA testing and OFA certification to make sure our dogs are healthy before breeding them.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, apricot, and blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Good level

Carolina Cavapoos reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavapoos.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
