Meet the breeder

I'm Susan S., the breeder behind CAS' American Hairless Terriers and Chihuahuas located in Scott Depot, WV. Our puppies are born and raised in our home. We are not a large kennel and only look to breed dogs that represent the breed well. Pet and show puppies available. Prospective new owners need to provide a home at least as good as they have here. I am glad to answer any questions or discuss.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

My years as a handler, I did not do much breeding. I was on the road and could not devote the time needed to raising puppies. The handling career did gave me abundant knowledge of dogs, including structure, temperament and training. I am now semi-retired and my daughter raised. This gives me the opportunity to breed and socialize puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are pets first, however, they are exemplary examples of the breed. You will not see kennel banks in our home with excessive dogs. WE BACK UP OUR DOGS. If you get a show quality dog from us, we will back it up. Our first show chi was over 6 pounds at just over 6 months, which is a DQ. That breeder didn't back it up. we will NOT be that breeder! This goes for health issues as well.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our American Hairless Terrier puppies have hairless coats. Chihuahua puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Chihuahua puppies include cream, white, red and white, and cream and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
