Breeder of German Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Valerie H., the breeder behind Centennial German Shepherds located in Pueblo West, CO. We are a small hobby breeder in Colorado. Our goal is to produce healthy and beautiful German Shepherd puppies that win in the show ring, excel as working dogs, but most importantly, flourish as loving family companions and guardians.

Q. & A. with Valerie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started showing and working my dogs and then became interested in breeding. After living for five years in Germany and studying the German Shepherd lines, I decided to begin my own breeding program. We would never breed a pair of dogs that would produce puppies that we wouldn't want to keep ourselves.
  • What makes your program special?

Our foundation dogs and the dogs we use for breeding trace back to the best Italian, Estonian, and German bloodlines. We seek out dogs with a geographically diverse gene pool while also studying line breeding to keep the integrity of the breed intact. We also keep in touch with our puppy owners and are available to answer questions or catch up. We are the premier long coat breeder in Colorado.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Most puppies in each litter are the same price. We do not accept deposits until our female is confirmed pregnant. After that, we create a waiting list and contact people after the puppies are born.”
