I'm Jill M., the breeder behind Charm Wheatens located in Saegertown, PA. We breed purebred dogs that are intentionally bred for predictability, type, health, and welfare. Our Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers excel in various performance venues and most importantly in their forever homes as beloved family members. Our dogs are family members first and foremost. We're passionate, responsible breeders who truly love our dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We wanted to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior health, temperament, and conformation.
  • What makes your program special?

    We take great care with each breeding to ensure we are producing puppies that are excellent representations of the breed. The health and temperament of our puppies are our number one priority. We are very conscious about who purchases our puppies, always ensuring that they are given the best life possible. Our commitment is to provide you with a professional and friendly puppy-buying experience; and that includes always having responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Excellent level

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Protein-Losing Nephropathy (PLN; NPHS1 Gene Variant), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
