I'm Monica D., the breeder behind Charming Lil Chihuahuas located in Cache, OK. I raise healthy long and short coat Chihuahua puppies in all colors. All of my puppies are out of AKC Embark and OFA health tested adults. All puppies are raised in my home and handled daily. I do ship puppies if needed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have loved dogs all of my life. My parents raised Cocker Spaniels when I was little and I loved them so much that I decided I wanted to be a part of the breeder world when I grew up. I raised English Mastiffs for a minute but after getting my first Chihuahua, I fell in love. I knew that they were the breed for me.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include long and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, sable spotted white, merle, chocolate, cream, fawn, black sabled fawn, blue, chocolate blue, chocolate sabled fawn, fawn brindled black, fawn and white, cream and white, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, black and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Monica

Monica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Monica partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All puppies will be socialized, have at least their first set of shots and be dewormed. They are also doing well on potty pad training before they leave. I require a non refundable deposit of $500 to hold puppy of choice until they are ready to go. The only way the deposit is refunded is if the vet find something wrong at their check up.”

Monica may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    Having never done this before, we were extremely nervous and apprehensive because there are a lot of scams out there. Monica was awesome and immediately put us at ease by answering all of our questions and walking us through the process step by step. We’ve had our baby for two days now and he fits right in. Despite being just over 8 weeks old, he is confident, curious and very social with humans, our other dogs and cats - all of which are massive in size in comparison to his tiny frame. It is very clear that Monica has spent a lot of time socializing him and exposing him to different things. We have never seen a puppy so confident and unafraid!     It was so wonderful working with Monica to find my perfect dog! I did not want a puppy, because I am disabled and I just didn’t have the energy to deal with a lot of of the things that puppies required. I knew Monica was an ethical breeder, because she held back a beautiful 4.6 pound female brindle long-haired Chihuahua for a year and decided not to breed her because she was too little. She did not want any harm to come to her little girl, even though she had such a unique coat – one that is not common to Chihuahuas. Monica was wonderful to work with, and I was very grateful that she came and met met me about 30 minutes from her house, which shortened my pick up drive by an hour. Tora is so incredibly smart and has already mastered the way to get up and down the ramp to my bed. She is still getting used to my space, and she has her safe spots and she has spots that she has yet to explore. She is doing very well pottying on a patch of fake grass with a potty pad underneath it, and I think she is a wonderful dog. I would recommend Monica and her dogs to anyone who is looking for an ethical breeder. It was a pleasure working with her!
