I'm Mary R., the breeder behind Chinnychinchinofsalem located in Salem, OR. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. The sweet, loyal, and playful disposition of our dogs inspired us to begin responsibly breeding to expand the breed and share them with others. We offer the most current testing on our chins and want the best for the breed. We have DNA tested all of our dogs andwe know their origin most the time.
Q. & A. with Mary
Why did you start breeding?
I had a friend that bred chins and I just fell in love with the breed. My friend taught me everything I know but I am still learning everyday. I was her under study for about 5 years. I learned all the tricks of the trade and raised several littters under her guidance.
What makes your program special?
My dogs live in my home with me and are handled from birth. They are raised in a home environment to give them the confidence that they need. I do my best to make sure that my pups get all their needs met. They are exposed to as much as possible before they go home. My kids love to play with them and brush their hair. I make sure my adults get health testing including DNA and all the babies get a vet check, 1st shot and wormed before going home!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Our family met a Japanese Chin at a friends house and fell in love having never met a dog of this breed. We reached out to Mary on good dog and Max was available. Mary was very responsive and answered all our questions and soon my husband was on a plane to get our adorable dog. It has been a week and he has brought great joy to our lives. The whole process was terrific and bonus that Max was pad trained when we brought him home! Papers, immunizations all in order and he didn’t bark on the plane! Highly recommend this breed and breeder! Thanks again Mary!
