Cimerron Kennels

Deborah D.

Breeder of Catahoula Leopard Dogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Deborah D., the breeder behind Cimerron Kennels located in Topeka, KS. Cimerron Kennels is dedicated to producing correct, healthy, well minded, and driven dogs who thrive in many fields. We strive to only produce working and sporting dogs, and occasionally have active companions available to approved homes. We only breed ever 1-3 years when we want to keep a puppy. 😊.

Q. & A. with Deborah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up showing and competing with my mom (biologist)who is an AKC breeder of Merit of Pembroke Welsh Corgis, whom has bred multiple national top ten agility pems and national show winners. She also wrote the genetic color theory for her breed. My dad was a diary farmer. Both taught me a love and appreciation for well bred animals and good genetics.
  • What makes your program special?

Cimerron is special because I have poured my heart, soul, blood, thousands of dollars and thousands of driven miles into it. I don't just work on one aspect of these dogs but rather strive to encompass many important characteristics. Structure, Passing health tests, good temperaments, working ability and the ability to shine in multiple venues. Honesty and transparency from me is also important.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
