Meet the breeder

I'm Andrea S., the breeder behind Circle R Valley Bordoodls located in Valley Center, CA. We are family operated and look at our dogs as our pets first. In our program, we use ENS & ESI and as well as puppy curriculum called the BABs method. We do puppy selection at 6.5 weeks after they have been temperament tested. All our dogs are health certified through embark and our vet.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Getting into breeding was 2 fold for us. We were wanting to get a Border Collie but didn't want the working kind. Having a mix of a Border Collie(our Bordoodle) we thought would be perfect. What we realized was the Bordoodle was it. We were looking for F1b Reverse Bordoodles but there wasn't anyone out there that did that, so we decided to breed that way ourselves.

  • What makes your program special?

    For us the main detail that sets us a part is the uniqueness of our breed. We don't just breed 50/50 or 75 poodle/ 25 Border Collie, but unconventional back to the Border Collie. This isn't for those that want the non shedding, this is for those that LOVE the Border Collie smarts but want less working drive. We also have found picking the right parents temperament is key.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include white and black, white and red merle, white and blue merle, red merle, blue merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Andrea

Andrea has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Andrea partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“We take deposits to secure your spot for when we do selections. Selections are done after we temperament test our puppies between 6.5/7 weeks. We allow the families to decide which puppy is best for them, however we are willing to help guide you based on communication of what you are looking for.”

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our prices vary depending on which type of Bordoodle. It doesn’t vary on look or color but on which breed(F1, F1b, F2, F1b Reverse). Our deposits are $300 and taken after the litter has been born and to lock your spot in for selection day.”

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
