I'm CL M., the breeder behind CL McGovern's Setters located in Texas. Our dogs are raised in our home and are loved as family. We strive to produce high-quality show prospects and companions. Our dogs make exceptional family companions but also have the ability to succeed in a variety of roles. We care deeply about Setters and have built that love and respect for the breed into every aspect of our program.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
