



I'm Sharlane C., the breeder behind Clattenburg Ridgebacks located in Holden, LA. We are a premier breeder of top quality Rhodesian Ridgebacks. We have owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1980. Our dogs are imported and descendants of imported dogs from some of the oldest and best breeders in South Africa (Mushana, Glenholm, Lionsriver, and Clachan. Our Russian Imports represent some of the BEST Champion dogs in Russia. Our Ridgebacks have excellent conformation and faultless pedigrees. All of our dogs are very intelligent and have a great disposition.

"Show/Breeding quality with full AKC Registration is $3000. Show Quality/Pet/Companion with limited Registration is $2000-$2500. $300 deposit is required to reserve a puppy. If we unfortunately do not have a puppy for you, your deposit is refunded or transferred to our next litter—your choice."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
