I'm Shanti B., the breeder behind Coast Redwoodles located in Fort Bragg, CA. We are a small, thoughtful breeding program on the Mendocino Coast offering healthy, well-adjusted pups raised with love. Our dogs are raised with the goals of good temperament, trainability, and hypoallergenic qualities. We lovingly guide them through the very formative first 8-weeks using a proven, specialized curriculum to give pups and their families a fantastic foundation for success!
Q. & A. with Shanti
Why did you start breeding?
In choosing our own family dog a couple of years ago, we never thought in a million years we would consider a Poodle. It all started when we realized how important temperament and trainability were in choosing a dog of our own. What we love so much about the Poodles and Doodles we’ve encountered is what we hope to produce for other families to enjoy!
What makes your program special?
We believe in the importance of breeding being done with purpose. We’ve found a wonderful program and curriculum to follow that enables us to offer great dogs for families to enjoy and be proud of for years to come. We also carry out temperament evaluations shortly before go-home to help families choose the pup that will be the best fit. This honors the puppy as well as their future family.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
