I'm Joan G., the breeder behind Colonial Westies located in Louisville, KY. We are a small breeder in Kentucky offering top-quality show dogs. Our focus is to breed healthy and happy dogs and to find a household that will best fit with them.

What makes your program special?
We are a very small breeder. Our last litter was 4 years ago and will not be breeding in the forseeable future. Our focus is entirely on the dogs and we make sure they are prepared for their future in the ring. Our puppies are socialized and desensitized to walking and being groomed.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"We do not take deposits or discuss price until we find you are a good fit for our puppy. We must go through a short interview to discuss past pets, household, and schedule."

Parent health testing
Great level

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Craniomandibular Osteopathy (CMO)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
