I'm Cindy F., the breeder behind Columbine Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs located in Weld County, CO. We work hard to produce healthy, happy Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppies, and we take great pride in our breeding program. Our priorities when breeding are health and temperament, and we strive to improve the line with each generation by seeking out complementary traits in compatible puppy parents.
Q. & A. with Cindy
Why did you start breeding?
We got our first Swissy nearly 10 years ago. We participate in AKC Conformation shows and Working Dog activities. We became interested in building a breeding program with the help of our breeder/mentor, and now have 4 females (Ages 10 - 2. The two-year old is our current "breeder"). We've produced 5 litters. Our goal is to be a great ambassador for the breed and a "preservation" breeder.
What makes your program special?
Because our program is small, we are able to give each dog and puppy all of the attention and care that they need to develop and thrive. Our dogs are our family. We want to build a relationship with each and every family where we place a puppy, and pledge to be here to support each puppy and their family for the dog's entire life.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
