I'm Marissa W., the breeder behind Compelling Canines located in Topeka, KS. My dogs live with me in my home and have the freedom to roam around the house and my backyard. They are well socialized, healthy, and happy. Puppies will be born November 2025.

Why did you start breeding?
I have always been invested in the well-being of animals. I wanted to give back to the breed by producing healthy pups and placing them into loving homes. It will be my pleasure to introduce you to your next Ibizan Hound puppy!What makes your program special?

Getting a puppy from Marissa
Marissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include between $1,000 - $1,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes AKC limited registration for most puppies (full registration will have specific requirements), microchip, OFA eye/BAER exams, and age-appropriate vet care. ”
Contract & health guarantee
Marissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Carly
Carly is a goofy girl who gets along with everyone and loves to make me laugh. She is an AKC and UKC champion, has all her health testing completed satisfactorily, and enjoys activities like racing and lure coursing. I expect her to pass on her silly and affectionate temperament to her puppies. Feel free to inquire about my litter in November 2025!

Compelling Canines reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Ibizan Hounds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
