I'm Connie D., the breeder behind Connie's American Eskimo Dogs and Mini Australian Shepherd Dogs located in Westwego, LA. We do our best to socialize and acclimate each litter so we’re able to offer all-around healthy and well-mannered puppies! We are dog lovers through and through! Our pups are such an important part of our lives, and we can’t imagine being without them. It’s an amazing experience as breeders to provide others with puppies that we know will bring them the same joy!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My first american eskimo dog was in 1998. His name was Chance. I loved him so much that I thought I would get him a companion, Lilly. They had puppies and I started raising eskie puppies a few years later. My daughters were excited to have puppies around and took joy in naming each one. They have grown up and have children of their own now. Grandchildren come to visit and play with the puppies now.

  • What makes your program special?

    From the very beginning, the birth of the puppies, until the day the owner picks up their puppy, I take extremely good care of the puppies. Since, I am retired I can devote all of my attention to the puppies and make sure all of their needs are met. I play with them and make sure they get a chance to play outside and develop their social skills. The Embark test panel has been taken and Raven and Sparkey have clear/normal test results.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    American Eskimo Dog puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black tri and blue merle. American Eskimo Dog puppies include white and biscuit and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Connie was truly an ideal breeder with her communication skills. I put a down payment on Riley at around the 4-week mark, and Connie gave me weekly growth pictures and information. She worked with me while I was out of the country. Finally, when I got Riley, you could tell that she was raised in a loving home, as she immediately started to latch on and explore her surroundings.     Connie is an amazing, professional, and caring breeder of American Eskimo dogs. We love this breed, and it is very difficult to find a good breeder. I was very fortunate to stumble across Good Dog and Connie. Connie sent us photos and updates on our puppy, Gideon, from before he was born to when we picked him up. She sent us photos, videos, updates on his weight, vaccination visits, what kind of food he needs, and his favorite toys, everything we needed to bring him home smoothly. Gideon is a happy, healthy, puppy. He already knew his name, how to sit, she’d already started him on using the bathroom outside. Everything was absolutely seamless and anxiety-free.
