I'm Julie B., the breeder behind Crestie Charm Cottage located in Ocala, FL. Hi, we’re Julie and Mark, the hearts behind Crestie Charm Cottage in Ocala, Florida. Here, every one of our dogs is family first and foremost. We raise our Chinese Cresteds right inside our home, where they’re cherished, spoiled, and loved from the moment they’re born until the day they snuggle into yours. At Crestie Charm Cottage, we focus on more than just beauty — we nurture confidence, character, and connection. Each puppy is raised indoors with plenty of love and attention, ensuring a joyful start filled with warmth, trust, and gentle care. We believe every puppy deserves to be raised with purpose, patience, and plenty of love.   • Why did you start breeding?

    With allergies preventing typical pet ownership, I discovered a hypoallergenic dream breed 15 years ago that changed my life - Chinese Crested dogs. As a longtime animal lover and toy dog aficionado, I fell in love with the unique coats and quirky personalities of the "Dr. Seuss" dogs. From their velvety hairless body to their powderpuff siblings, the Chinese Crested breed bring me endless cuddles and grooming fun. They've filled my days with joy and purpose; I can't imagine life without my precious Cresties!

  • What makes your program special?

    All of our breeding adults are tested for PRA-PRCD, PLL, and DM. We strictly follow AKC standards and strive for excellence in our puppy temperament and health. We currently have two breeding females (a Russian true hairless and a beautiful straight coat powderpuff) so our breeding program is small and we're dedicated in keeping it that way. Our goal is to share our love and dedication to preserving this breed.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include powderpuff and hairless coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, palomino, black and tan, black, white and chocolate, white and black, white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Julie

Julie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Julie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We match puppies to approved families based on temperament, energy level, structure, and overall fit. Matching typically begins once puppies are around 2 weeks old, in waitlist order, after we’ve had time to start evaluating each baby and discussing preferences with families. Our goal is to place each puppy in the home that suits them best.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration, 30-day veterinarian health certificate, first round of vaccinations, microchip, 1-year breeder health guarantee, socialization, beginner potty training, beginner crate training, sensory training, new home puppy package (includes current puppy food, current training treats, document binder, blanket with mom and littermates scent, teething toy and travel puppy pad). While deposits are non-refundable, they can be transferred to one other litter.”

Julie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
